The 2017 Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress has revealed that "homelessness has increased for the first time in seven years," in which national chronic homelessness has risen by 12%. To address the crisis, the City of Seattle has committed more than $63 million over the last four years to establish affordable housing, cleanup programs, and emergency services for the homeless. The data allows us to visualize the effect of these coordinated efforts on the varying classifications of homelessness.
